Astronaut Chris Hadfield will soon become the first Canadian commander of the International Space Station, and while he's there he'll hit a few high notes.
CBC's Bob McDonald spoke with Hadfield in Houston, from both the on-ground full-scale mock-up of the ISS, and from a country bar so they could play guitar and talk about the song he'll play in orbit.
"It'll be really nice to be able to play music, to try and capture the experience as best I can," Hadfield said of his song about space flight, Is Somebody Singing? or ISS, which he wrote with Ed Robertson of the Barenaked Ladies.
Hadfield also discussed his 20-year career as an astronaut, his childhood hero James T. Kirk, and why he keeps himself in denial about his third trip to space.
