Apple is expected to unveil the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 today, leaked images suggest, and may also make some announcements about Apple Pay, iMac and OS X.
The company is hosting a media event at its Cupertino, Calif., headquarters that will be streamed live online starting at 1 p.m. ET.
As usual, the company has not said what the event is about, but it is widely expected to unveil new iPads as it did during a similar event last October.
On Wednesday, a number of technology websites, including Apple Insider and Cult of Mac, posted images of the "iPad Air 2" and "iPad mini 3," taken from preview images for the iPad User Guide for iOS 8 on the iTunes store.
The images show the devices will have Touch ID fingerprint sensors and the iPad Air 2 will have a burst mode for its camera. There was no mention of the devices in the downloaded guide itself. As of Thursday morning, the images were no longer visible on iTunes.
According to the technology website Mashable, Apple is also expected to announce that its mobile payment system, Apple Pay, is going live at hundreds of U.S. stores today. It may also officially launch the newest version of its Mac operating system OS X Yosemite, which was unveiled in June.
Apple Pay was first announced in September, alongside Apple's new iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and Apple Watch.
Earlier this week, the website Apple Insider quoted an analyst who suggested that an iMac computer with a 27-inch Retina display will also be announced today.
