Apple is expected to show off the features of its soon-to-be released Apple Watch at a special event today.

The event will be streamed live online starting 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET).

Apple is advertising the event with the daylight saving time reference "spring forward" and the event takes place a month before the watch's anticipated April release.

The watch, first unveiled last September, connects to the iPhone 5 or later models to receive notifications about incoming mail, messages, calls and events on your calendar. It also includes a heart rate sensor and accelerometer for fitness tracking, along with Apple's virtual assistant Siri and its new mobile payment system in the U.S., Apple Pay. It also includes standard watch features like an alarm and stopwatch.

The watch will be Apple's first new product line since the 2010 launch of the iPad and the first without company co-founder Steve Jobs, who died in 2011.
